Follow These Steps To Maintain Your Device Privacy And Security !

We currently live in a era where everything from banking transactions to buying groceries for our home is done online on the internet. So we should be very careful about the information that we share on the internet. Our privacy is very important and we'll discuss some of the ways through which we can maintain our privacy and have some control over our data.

We install a lot of apps in our device from the Play/App Store or from somewhere else, so we should be very careful about the source from where we install the apps. 

We often download apps from Chrome or other browser which is not so safe. 

1. APP PERMISSIONS

When you install a app it requires some permissions to operate. But there are some apps which asks you for the permissions which they doesn't really want. Like if a calculator app is asking for your Call Logs and Phone permissions that it is suspicious. So you should be very careful while giving the permissions. See if any app is asking you for unwanted permissions and check which apps has access to what permissions of your device. You can find all these settings related to permissions in your Permission Manager or in App Info. Disable any unwanted permissions for an app.

2. SITE SETTINGS

If you use Chrome browser, in settings you will have a option of Site Settings in it from where you can manage which sites to allow access of different functions of your device such as Cookies, Camera, Location, Motion Sensors, Ads, Microphone, etc. To find these Site Setting option you have to follow these : Open Chrome>Settings>Site Settings. Here you can also find which sites you have allowed which permissions. So be very careful while allowing sites your device's access. Don.t allow any site the access which it do not require. So by doing these you can stop the sites from accessing a part of data which they don't require to operate. 

3. ACCOUNT PASSWORDS

We have to set passwords for our different accounts such as Google Account Microsoft Account, etc. and a lot of people make these mistake of setting a password which is not very strong. A password should be a mixture of alphabets, numbers and characters. For example : hts2638?@!TR : you can set these type of passwords for your accounts because they are not very easy to crack. If you are having a problem to remember these that write it down on a notebook but never set your password as your DOB, Name, etc. Your passwords should not be similar for different accounts. Also you have to turn on the TWO-STEP VERIFICATION for your account which means that if even anyone knows your password than he will not be able to Log In to your account as he has to type the OTP which will be sent to your number. 

4. USE DIFFERENT GMAIL ACCOUNTS

We often visit websites for downloading stuff like wallpapers, pictures, stock footages, etc. Some of this websites asks you to login through your Google account. We does not visit these websites often so logging in to any websites through our primary account might be risky. So you should always have a secondary email id for all these stuff because giving these sites the access of your primary account might be risky. So always make sure that you does not give these types of websites the access to your main primary account.
